I have had my Sony 40XBR800 for about six months. I bought it off a friend who had it since new in 2003. It is only 5 years old and about a week ago it started with the blinking stand-by light, no picture or sound. I hear the internals clicking like the picture will come on then nothing but the light blinking 7 times pausing and then repeating. What is very frustrating is that I have an old Sony Trinitron KV-27TW76 console floor model (27") which I bought new in 1992. I have literally traveled the world with it and it still works perfectly. It looks like Sony's quality has gone to crap. I don't think I will ever own another Sony after seeing this build quality.
