i've accidently muted the sound how did i do it and how do i undo it

i have the mhc w770 av multi sony pro duct, and while pressing buttons on remote i've inadvertently mutted the sound. the head phones work but not he spakers. which buttons did i push and how do i un do the mute. the manual dosen't mention mutting at all so can some one help please.
