With this combination of equipment certain compromises will have to be made as far as convenience of operation is concerned, and so I suggest the following. As you seem to have the VCR already connected into the DVR I would then use a set of "component" video leads between the DVR and the TV, and of course with this type of connection you will also have to use an audio lead as well, as component leads are only video and do not transfer any audio. Make sure you set the TV's external input selection to component. Connecting this way will give maximum quality from you present equipment.
