IC PROBLEM

STEPHEN JOHN P. MABUGAT Posted Nov 14, 2008

power surge

greetings, jvc just concluded that the IC is the cause for the standby light and no power problem and the reason is power surge. will using a separate charger be the solution, or could there be other causes? will it be fine to buy a sony handycam using mini dv as a backup for the jvc? thankyou steve

Two replies have already been made to you explaining the facts about your original problem, and something which "you" personally will not cure as it requires sophisticated test gear to check the "exact" reason for the fault, albeit that the charge regulator is the prime suspect. Mini DV tapes recorded in one camcorder can be played back in any other Mini DV camcorder provided they (the tapes) have originally been recorded in a standard setting. That said there could be some slight picture disturbances due to differing mechanical tolerance levels between the two camcorders, although this (if it happens) should not be severe.
