A sensible approach! although JVC "D" ranges (followed by two digits) can suffer this problem even when no condensation exits, and so dew sensor disabling (after having tried cleaning same) is then the only cure. PLEASE NOTE! - The disabling procedure is something that should only really be carried out by persons acquaint at working on small precision pieces of equipment and them also be able to "fine" solder, as two very narrowly spaced PCB pins have to be soldered.
