Problem with CD player

I am fixing this device for a friend. The radio and tape players work fine. The CD player doesn't work. Putting in a CD displays "Cd" and then "OO0000" and that's all. I think I can find the problem once I get into the unit but I would like someone to tell me the probable solution to this.
