This problem is caused by a manufacturing defect and which a "free" repair is on offer from JVC, this being conditional to you having the original purchase receipt, or packaging with warranty which was contained therein. As you appear to be in either Canada or the US, contact the customer services appropriate to your area, more comprehensive details cannot be sent as they have to be sent to a "direct" e-mail address (you having restricted yours!) this is due to them not only being lengthy, but also for convenience contain various JVC web links for the appropriate contacts. Please note the offer expires at the end of June 2009, this being the third extension that has been made on the original offer from nearly three years ago.
