JVC I'Art Pro 48

Mark Posted Feb 12, 2009

Television will not turn on.

I recently sold my JVC and the new owner told me that he can't get the TV to turn on. It was moved from my house into a warehouse where it sat for a couple of days in the cold before being moved into his basement. We told him to give it a day or two to warm up before he tried turning it on. He says when he tried to turn the TV on he heard a "pop" and there was no sound or picture. I'm wondering what the problem could be? Could he possibly have blown a fuse or even the bulb? Is there any way to fix the TV?

The question you are asking is really quite impossible to answer as there are so many possible reasons for this difficulty, including one of "subterfuge" by the purchaser who may have changed their mind about the purchase! however the most obvious one asked by an engineer would be "during the storage period was any traces of water allowed to fall on top of the device?" as this would be one of many things that could cause the symptoms mentioned, and something that could be visually verified in the casing was removed.
