Does anyone know how to disable or bypass the safeguard mode of JVC GR-AXM230 camcorder?

Have an older JVD GR-AXM230 camcorder which has tape transport problem, but the CCD is still good, just want to use it as a video camera instead. But the tricky part is the safeguard mode kicks in and mute the video signal. Any idea on how to disable this safeguard feature?
