Re: Kodak Easy share C763

Carol Posted Apr 02, 2009, in response to:day_late

This might sound like a crazy fix, but it worked great for me. I've had 4 of these cameras. Two stolen, one broken when I dropped it on the extended lens, and one that was accidently immersed in water. I keep buying it because I really like this little camera. What you do, is smack the bottom of the camera really hard on the heel of you hand several times. Then turn the camera on. I have to do this every now and then to get rid of the error. It seems like there is some little gizmo inside the lens that gets out of alignment. A couple good smacks gets it back in.

The smack-it fix WORKS! Situation: The lens was out, it wouldn't come back in and it was funny. Every time I hit power it would load and give me a funny white error message in the top left hand corner and shut back down. Fix: The lens wouldn't pop back in, it wouldn't pop straight out. I used the "smack-it" fix, and it worked. I smacked it a dozen times with the palm of my hand, I popped the lens out fully...powered it on...and now the lens moves freely back and forth. Trust the "smack-it" fix!
