Continuing issue after replacing C926..

James Posted Apr 21, 2009

After replacing C296, every part of the TV works except the video (which is, unfortunately, necessary). I think C298, nearby, might be blown as well (bulges)-- anyone have any ideas on this?

I am unaware as to the chassis fitted to the model of TV you are referring to however although that some people seem to get away with only replacing C926 "any" electrolytic capacitors in the area of the frame output IC that seem to be bulging should always be replaced as a matter of course. It should also be pointed out that in many cases its not just the C926 at fault but the actual IC thats blown, or either that it has developed dry joints on its pins to PC board connections or that one or two components directly associated with it have blown. (Is the vertical output IC next to the cap numbered IC421 or IC1421?)
