I read the forums below and since my camera is over 8 years old, i decided to for go the hit or miss 100$ repair. I figured what the and tried the drop method listed in the previous reply. I dropped it from about a foot onto my end table so the end where you put the memory stick hits. IT WORKED, so had to post.
