IC replaced then it got better. Not really.

Hi, I had a convergance problem. I replaced the ICs and picos. It got better but still was not fixed. i figured it may have been my soldering(had never done it before) so I had a tv repairman come over. He said my soldering was okay and changed one of the smaller resistors underneath the heat sinks. When he fired the tv up there was a smell of burning electronics and now I have no picture at all. He said I must have burn up some tracers and thats why it fried. He said if I replace the D board that should fix the problem. He does not want to fix it anymore. (older gentlman with a bad back) So, is he right, or is there likely other problems now and where can I get a replacement board fast before the wife and kids insisit on a new tv? Thanks for your time.
