Re all the problems with Vista and video capture, as this camcorder like most has a DVi / firewire socket then if the PC being used also has a firewire input which can be either a 4 or 6 pin type, (the latter being most common on desktops) then if that is used a driver is not then necessary for transferring video to the PC. The PC of course should have some form of software installed with a video capture facility, i.e:- the Windows installed as standard "Movie maker" or similar, but there are lots of various other video editing software about so there is no need to bother wth Sony's.
