need to repair broken sony hdr-hc7 lcd. what are my options?

I broke the lcd display touch screen on my sony hdr-hc7. Sony wants over $500 to repair. Is it possible to purchase and replace the entire swing out display? Or have it serviced a little cheaper than $500. The camera is only worth about $900.
