The internet is the BEST! I was ready to bring my "HS500" to the curb. In order to further test the "Humidity\Dust" question, I used the blow-dryer on cool setting first, with no resolution of the problem. Then I used the regular heat setting and received almost immediate results. I know confounding variables still exist, but this was my experience. In addition, it should be stated that the TV will not switch out of "standby" until the power button is pressed. This was great advice! Thanks!
