TV flashes alternatley between power blue light and lamp red light and will not come on.

We just replaced the lamp in this unit less than a month ago and things were fine until the unit started flashing alternatley between power blue light and lamp red light and will not come on. I check the fuse and it checked out fine. I have a model HD-52G887. Hopefully you can help looking at the owners manual the tv seems to be in some kind of protection mode. How can I test the unit any farther?
