SONY OPTICAL BLOCK

Optical block
Hello,I own a Sony KDF50WE655,i believe it needs an optical block.It has blue blobs and dot pixels on the lower screen. Sony wants no part of helping me in any way.I am going to try to replace it myself. Where can i buy this part? Are their any special tools? Any info you can help me with would be appreciated. Thank you in advance. Brian

Did you replace the Optical Block? If so, how did it work? Any advice regarding the changeout?

I have the same problem with the same Sony model and was also planning on installing the optical block myself. So far the only on-line site that I have found a new optical block is from the Sony parts website at servicesales.sel.sony.com. The part number you are looking for is A1084660A.
