The answer is to use a firewire connection (DVi or IEEE1394) into a PC that has some form of video capture software installed such as Windows movie maker. Also keep to the instructions given in the camcorders user manual for carrying out this action. Note: the PC obviously also has to have a firewire socket, this usually a six pin one on a desk top PC. (DVi socket on camcorder being 4 pin)
