fix for 04 03 errors on jvc gr-d23e

e03 or e06 he error indications (E03 or E04) show what type of malfunction has occured. When an error indication appears, the camcorder turns off automatically. Eject the cassette once and re-insert it, then check if the indication clears. When it does, you can resume using the camcorder. If the indication remains, consult your nearest JVC dealer. butyou can take battery off tape ot leave open stand 30mins lift tap with 3 fingers under round the sides gentle inside tape housibg just put battery back in not tape inportant if the sensoure is clear it should reboot if not make sure tape draw is level press let it load with no tape push back make sure you push pack the cover with some presure now check all round does it look flush level if not whats is causing it not fit flush its usually strap loop the metal bit check i fix 4 dvmini using this methord before you start give it good cleen with alcol swabs take your time

Re: statement of - make sure you push pack the cover with some pressure - I would strongly advise anyone not to use any form of force in doing this as doing so can distort the flimsy metal parts of the mechanism and if this happens its almost certain that severe problems will be experienced in trying to realign it. E-03 is nearly always caused by a sticking cassette or alternatively by someone having continually used Maxell or similar tapes thereby contaminating the slip drive spindles, as regards to false E-04 (false indication being the usual thing) this can sometimes be cured by thumping the base of the camcorder on a padded object as this jolts the mechanism enough to allow a carriage position sensor to click in properly, it not having done to usual cause of the problem, and is something frequently heard complained about associated with the JVC "D---" range of models showing "safeguard mode". All that said though, if you have had success with what you have done then thats all that matters!
