You dont need any driver if you use the camcorders DVi output socket into a PC's firewire input socket, this also called a DVi,IEEE1394 or just firewire. Desktop PC's usually have a six pin socket whereas its always four in the camcorder, so the lead is called a 4 pin firewire to a 6 pin firewire and something that is sold nearly everywhere. The PC will require Windows movie maker or similar installed for its "capture" facility, but any standard video manipulation software seen advertised also has it, they all do!!
