Overheating receiver

The station indicators have faded in and out for years, but the unit worked fine. If i tapped the unit the would come on for a while. If they are on when shut off unit the lights stay on with the following message DRLC. Even with the unit shut off the unit is very hot to the touch even hours later. Can anyone help me?
