Sony Trinitron XBR Model KV-32XBR75 - Picture goes black and comes and goes

I got this TV from gramps and it is nice. It has started loosing the pic ... it just goes black over about 2 seconds and stays that way most of the time. Sometimes comes back for a few seconds or a few minutes at a time. It will also stay on for an hour or two and then go black again. I am also looking for a repair manual. I would like to fix it if possible I have an electronics background.
