JVC GRD-30U fuse replacement

RevDon Posted Dec 03, 2010

Apparently, I blew one of those circuit board fuses I've read about. This happened while trying to load an uncooperative tape. Now the unit's dead in all modes. I've had the camera apart before to fix the condensation problem. (Thank you Raymond!) Where are the fuses? Can I use a tiny soldering iron to remove the bad one(s)? Or one of those "cold" soldering irons?

Attached are the fuse positions applicable to these range of models, if you say the device is completely dead then F6001 is the main suspect and indeed can occasionally blow whilst operations are taking place even although no definite fault condition exists.

It should be pointed out that these are special miniature soldered in types only really obtainable from JVC, however "near" alternative types are obtainable from some of the more specialised electronic parts outlets which will be perfectly OK provided care is taken during soldering.

I normally send JPEG images via direct e-mail along with comprehensive text applicable to the problem, however decided to try out Pechorin's new image adding system.

(Should these attachments fail to send then direct e-mail is the only other method)
