I AM AN AUTHORIZED SONY CENTER CAMCORDER TECHNICIAN WANTING TO HELP OTHER TECHS IN REPAIRING CAMERAS.ALSO WILL HELP OTHERS FIND - RESEARCH PART NUMBERS- OR ORDER SONY PARTS FOR OTHERS.

  I have a Sony Mavica CD-400 that was working fine one day, was plugged in over-night to the battery charger/AC Adapter, and then would not work on battery power the next morning. The batteries are full charged and work nicely in a second CD-400 we had available. The camera works nicely with the battery removed and the AC Adapter plugged in. I bought a new battery and it doesn't want to charge up through the camera, either. What is wrong or where do I take it? I am in central Indiana.

  I am interested in any service manual or protocol manual you would have for a Sony EVO-9700 dual Hi-8 editing VCR. I am exploring the possibility of interfacing a Videonics AB-1 (A/B Roll Edit Controller) to a Sony EVO-9700 Hi-8 VCR. The AB-1 supports four interfaces: Sony Control-L (LANC), Panasonic 5-pin (Control M), RS-232, & RS-422 and three time codes: LTC, VITC, & RCTC. However I cannot find any information in the manuals about the control interface (the EVO-9700 has it own, dedicated edit controller) or the cable that would be required to carry the control signal. Any assistance you could provide would be appreciated.

    As far as I know there is no fuse in any Mavica MVC-FD series camera. Paul
