You are going to needa good 3-chip camera if you truly want life like colors and clean crisp edges .I would recomeand a sony trv-dcr950 for starters.I own one ,its very reliable and cost effective.If you cabn afford more geta sony pd170.Good luck with the weddings. Jim

    I'm a wedding photographer, I use the Sony DSR 250, I shoot all in DVCAM, never had a complaint the camera is a little heavy and big, so I use a tripod 80% of the time the smaller version dsr 170 is smaller andless heavy, a lot less heavy and it is a great camera also
