Same thing...started it up around April 12, 2004 and E03 -- re-attaching the battery doesn't do anything.
This is a bit odd that everyone is experiencing the same problem at the same time. That hardly seems like a hardware issue to me -- seems more like something in the embedded software, but who knows. Possibly JVC?
