yep, tapping it helped in my case as well! cheap repair for this crappy thing; mine is a DVL100 by the way.

So am i correct if i said that you are suggesting to put the lens cap on and to remove it once or twice to fix E04 error?
I'll try, i have a DVL100 too!!
