    I have a Sony CRF 230 where someone put line voltage into the battery socket !!!

      I have original service manual for the CRF 230.I have scanned it on a CD Rom.If 230 B,I have B&W copy of the service manual. Olivier

        That is great...a manual for the CRF 230. I think I told you but the previous owner, managed to put AC into the extenal DC supply socket.BANG!!! Can you send a copy to me via email ? I expect it is big. How is it scanned ? isit one BIG file of a whole bunch of pages ? I have some software that will slice up big files so they can be emailed in parts, and reassembled when all the parts are downloaded. Let me know what I can do to help you email me the manual. The Internet is a wonderful place, where one person in France, can help another on the other side of the world in Australia.     Im sorry if this reply is unrelated to your question, and I dont know when it was posted....did you need to live in New Zealand, in mount maunganui? Its just I came across your posting by accident and had a good friend back in the 80's with your name, and there cant be that many people with that name...It would be great to get back in touch , Look forward to your reply.
