Re: JVC service or questions

I have an HR-XVS44U Ser.# 168A1015. DVD playback often will slip into jerky motion, like it is dropping frames. In any case, the playback is no longer smooth. This sometimes occurs for no apparent reason, but sometimes after I have run FF or RW and pressed play again to return to watching. This is the second new unit that displays this characteristic. I like everything about it except this one unacceptable characteristic. What can be done? Has this problem occurred before?
