My sony trin. won't even start up (black screen when on)and red stand-by timer is blinking. What can be done to fix this? I have only had it 3 months...

This is a common occurance with Sonys with weak picture tubes. They have a built in circuitry that automatically blanks the video when the tube gets weak. This can sometimes be corrected by turning up the screen voltage or rejuvinating the tube. Otherwise you are out of luck.
