Re: Re: Sony Trinitron display malfunction. HELP!!!

Mel Posted Sep 19, 2004, in response to:Jackie

This is a common occurance with Sonys with weak picture tubes. They have a built in circuitry that automatically blanks the video when the tube gets weak. This can sometimes be corrected by turning up the screen voltage or rejuvinating the tube. Otherwise you are out of luck. You might want to check out www.FreeFlatScreens.com/default.aspx?referer=75091 65 for an opportunity to earn a free replacement for this set with a little effort on your part.

Hello, I have a sony trinitron with a blanking {blinking} picture. The picture appears to play very nicely when on {as usual.} If it is the power source then I don't understand why I still have volume. Is there any way of detecting and fixing the problem myself, before I have to call a repair service? Thank you for your efforts. Jonathan
