  I NEED a Sony DSC-T1 Screen. The camera works fine but the screen is the only thing busted. How hard is it to replace the screen? I believe the camera is out of warranty, at this point, but will check before purchasing from you, if you still have some available.

    They are tricky to replace not like other Sony cameras and yes its out of warranty. They definately wont fix a broken LCD under warranty. You can buy a new LCD from Sony for $155, I dont get them anymore sorry. I will buy your broken camera though if you would like to sell it.   I recently dropped my soncy DSC T1 camera, and the lcd screen is completley messed up. It think that the camera still works, but i cant tell because i can't see anything on the LCD screen. I am interested in buying a replacement screen, but im wondering how easy it is to replace the screen yourself, and if i could run the risk of further hurting the camera if I installed the new screen incorrectly.

  I recently bought a cyber shot t1 of ebay with a broken lcd. I've opened it to see how easy it is to access the LCD and a short pin (half inch long silver) was loose inside the case near the flash. Would you happen to know where this is likely to have come from?

    It drops directly down into the lens assembly in a little hole if you have the case open and the camera on its back. In all honesty, we can't figure out what it does and if it falls out we leave it out and have never had a problem.

  That would have baffled me forever. What a lovely idea, all that compact electronic engineering crammed into that tight case... and a stowaway loose pin that does? nothing??? :-)

    I've just looked to put this pin back. Is it really that square hole (with a round hole at the back) near a lable "SA" something on the black plastic of the lens assembly? Looks like it's designed to transfer any impact on the front of the casing to the rear (or just to make your t1 rattle), which should provide some additional protection to the lens assembly (hopefully without risk to the lcd!).
