HomeProblems removing the child lock on a video channel Hi I have JVC TC 27 " , TV is working fine, but I think one of channels has been locked ( child lock). I donot have the operating manual and I donot know how to remove the child lock. The video is played normal, but a big black patch is coming on to the screen which I guess means the channel has a child lock. Please help me as to how can I remove this child lock now, also please let me know if I can download operating manual from any internet site. Thanks Dominic

Thanks so much! I had the black square on the TV too and it was the captioning in text. I've been trying all morning to get that off. Thanks again!! I think so no es problem with, the child lock. If the black square srcreen is in the picture mean the closed caption is selected in text mode. use the remote control and disable close caption mode. To unlock channels in your TV you would need to bring up the menu first. Locate the Channel Summary line and highlight it in yellow by pressing the Channel + or - button or the up or down arrows. Press the Volume + button or the right arrow to enter the menu and then press the Channel - button or the down arrow to move down the channels. Highlight each padlock in yellow and press the "0" button to unlock the channels. The padlock will go away and the channel will be unlocked. There is a big plack patch on all channels - our granddaughter was watching a movie and had the remote! |
