i have the same model JVC GRD90US. The battery model i have is BN-V408U, approx recording time is 1hr 10 min. regarding the tape u can use any tape with the Mini DV mark. the other battery models available are RECORDING TIME CHARGING TIME BN-V416U 2hr 30 min 3 hrs 30 min BN-V428U 4hrs 20min 6hrs 20 min BN-V840U 5hrs 20 min 7hrs 30 min BN-V856U 8hrs 10 min 11 hrs 10 min this info is from the manual i got with the camcorder hope this info is useful to u
