Re: JVC service or questions

I have problems getting access to my GR DVL40E DV camcorder via a firewire connection. When ever I try to connect to my PC nothing happens, say the PC can not see the DV. I have tried several different tools (Windows Movie Maker, Power Director, Pinnacle studio 8.9) to connect to the DV, but all with the same negative result.

I have also tried a other DV (Panasonic) on the same PC using the same cables, and this worked just fine.

Thank you in advance.

Hello my friend I have the same type of camera and i was able to be connected with my pc until now. ANYWAY.
The camera will be regognised easily from windows XP.Take a look to the device management from the icon MY computer etc...etc... if You have your fire wire port installed rightly(even it is onboard or in a PCI card). Try to put the cables rightly into the camera from on side to the the other side(pc).Take a look in to the IRQs. If something is rong the system is not able to regognise your camera or any device in FIreWire port. Try another cable.Good night and i hope to have news from you
