I got this same error. I looked inside the slot and everyhting seems fine. The tabs on both sides looked fine. I've tried newly-reformatted disks as well as disks that had pix previously taken/saved on this camera. I still can't get rid of the error message.

  hi my name is carolyn one day my camera was working fine then the next day it said format error and i dont know what to do can you help me
