    SONY Cybershot E:61:00 ERROR

     Pepito Posted Jun 13, 2006

Hello I have the Cybershot DSC-T1 and got the error E:61.00. Since Sony is so expensive to repair, I decided to buy another camera. However, after reading the crazy solution offered by some in this forum, I thought what do I have to lose... So I banged the lense with my finger while the camera was off and it did not work. I then decided to drop it while off, on a soft rug and did not work either. Finally, I thought, what the heck, and turned it on. While it was "accessing" I banged the lense on my knee cap (it did not hurt and got rid of some of my frustration). The error message was gone!!! and I was able to focus, use the lense and take picutures!!!. Thanks for this Flinstone solution. Pepito

I too had problems with this and found the solution, which I think everyone here will benefit from. After searching everywhere on the internet, none of the solutions provided help me out. Here's what I found. The problem is that if you ever use the memory stick on other camera besides the Sony DSC-F707 or format the memory stick on a computer instead of using the camera's format feature, then you will experience the "Memory Stick Error C:13:01" problem. Here's the solution that finally worked for me. Take any lead pencil. Take the eraser and rub it on the gold contacts on the memory stick as if you are erasing writing on paper. Do this for about 30 seconds or more until you get all the gold contacts. Put the stick in the camera, switch to 'Setup', then turn the camera on. The 'C:13:01' error will automatically disappear. At this point, quickly format the memory stick using the camera's format feature. CAUTION: NEVER FORMAT YOUR MEMORY STICK ON OTHER CAMERAS, USING A COMPUTER WITH A MEMORY STICK READER OR USING WINDOWS XP WITH A USB CABLE PLUGGED TO THE CAMERA. IT DOESN'T WORK. FORMAT YOUR MEMORY STICK USING THE CAMERA'S BUILT IN FUNCTION ONLY. Hope it helps and best regards.

I received the Disk Error message on my Sony Mavica FD-71 digital camera tonight, so I searched the web to find some solutions. I found a few suggestions, so I took the camera apart but didn't take the actual disk drive apart. By the way, I had tried six different floppy disks in the camera--that all worked fine in my computer disk drive. I never took the time to reformat any of them using my computer.

I think one of the metal disk shutters (near the opening of the disk drive on the camera) was bent a little, so I straightened both of them. You can see the metal shutters--one on each side--after you push the black plastic door open with a small screwdriver or something. I used a small screwdriver and/or tweezers to straighten the metal shutters.

I was still getting a disk error message after doing this and after shining a flashlight inside the drive to see if there was anything else bent or some obstruction inside.

Then I decided to format (on my computer) one of the six disks I had tried in the camera (all said disk error when I tried them.) After I formatted the floppy disk, the camera worked fine. Then I inserted each of the other five disks into the camera, and the camera still worked fine, with no disk error messages.

Since I got some of my ideas from various places on the web, I thought I would post my experience with this, in case it might help others.

    Deb

    GRACIAS!!!
Buenos Aires...

I too am getting a E:61:00 error. Even though I wasted 100$ for repairs after a month or so its giving me the same error. I am just out of my mind to waste my money on further repairs. Can anybody tell me how to overcome this error if ever there was a chance to do it manually.

all you have to do is format the 3.5 floppy disk, then, it should say "no file" after that just take pictures again. if you tried this and it does not work just simply get a new floppy. and try it again. and can you tell me how to get the floppy to read in the drive mine wont work? ,a girl i talked to said it was because when, the camera came out they used windows 98'and i use windows xp so, if there is anything you know about that please message me?

Ahoj ja som mal rovnaký problém C:13:01ERROR no už som ho odstránil. Na karte sú vymazané subory ktoré kážu fotoaparátu kde to má uložiť.Ja som skopiroval s inej karty na tú moju pôvodnú, a už mi ide OK.Skúste to a uvidíte že to pôjde.

Hi guys, I have one sony camera (w230) that was working just fine, but suddenly appeared the message "13:01 reinsert the memory stick". I thought that it was a problem on my 4gb memory card (brand:Sandisk), but i tried to use this memory card on another sony camera and it worked!! So, I tried to use a old memory stick (512mb - brand: sony) on my new camera and it worked, too!! Soooo.. I too confuse... Why my camera does not recognize anymore my 4gb memory stick?? But recognize the 512 mb??? And it was working before....!!!!! I am thinking if the problem is with the brand (Sandisk)??? But if it was, why the sandisk memory stick was working just fine before?? I bought a new Sandisk (2gb) and it isn´t workind also!! Pleaseeeee..help me!!! =)))
