Re: JVC service or questions

I was given an older JVC GR-AMX300 camcorder from a friend of my wife's. He said it wasn't working, maybe I could get it to work. Apparently, it has something to do with the battery discharging VERY quickly once it is places in position on the camcorder, or it doesn't charge right in the charger. Wonder if there are any suggestions or known problems like this. I can use it for a few seconds and the battery becomes discharged and the camera goes off. He has given me also a couple other battery packs that I charge and the same thing happens. Any way to checkl if it is the camera or the battery pack/charger? I would appreciate it very much.
