JVC TH-M505 HTIB

Ron McAfee Posted Feb 12, 2005

Subwoofer Amplifiers

The AMPS are located in the subwoofer box. When the unit is on and operating normally(Good sound and volume) the red light on the front of the box does not come on and the fan located at the back of the box does not run. I can feel no heat coming from this unit even after playing at normal levels for more than an hour. I don't care about the light but am concerned about the fan. Is this a problem? Thank you

I just bought the same model and I noticed the fan isn't spinning in the subwoofer either, I don't know if it has an automated thermal heat switch that activates the fan if gets too hot so that its not continously running, but I'm hopeing that its not a problem. The unit does seem to operate correctly with the fan not spinning. it ya ever do find the answer to it, let me know.
