I have the same problem, a broken LCD screen for Canon Ixus 40. Please help where to buy the Sony part AM324AKA.

I'm sorry if you already answered the question but I can't read the thread.

  The part number for the Ixus 40 / SD300 is ck9-1103 (screen only, without backlight). You buy it from a canon parts distributor, not sony.
  
  In the UK, call H. Lehmans (Photo/Video) 01782 413 611. The screen (without backlight), VAT, and shipping was about 33 GBP.
