Re[3]: JVC service or questions

abraham rohm Posted Mar 05, 2005, in response to:dennis

No, I never received a worthwhile response from anyone, but i did manage to purchase the jvc service manual for the jvc drm1 just to get that resistor value. In the end i replaced the strg6653, the resistor r5107 (680 ohms 1/16Watt) i replaced it with a standard 1/4Watt 680ohm. I also added silicon thermal paste to the strg6653, and would recommend adding also a Front Mounting TO-220 heat sink to it too. (I couldnt find one so had to make do with cutting up some old heatsink and adding it on. From what i could see, the heat from the strg-6653 had caused premature ageing to the whole surrounding areas. Let me know if you you need any further information.
