Re: JVC GR - DVL300

markus Posted Apr 12, 2005, in response to:Paul

I understand all your frustrations relating to DV camcorder issues but dont alot of high tech products have issues..... most new products are built down to a price point and are early to market to get on top of competitors thus perhaps not meeting the rigorous testing once given to products. All manufacturers have issues , some more than others and whilst you may think that all of the feedback here spells major failure,,,, this is the WORLDWIDE WEB you are getting a reaction from. There are alot of people without issues. Generally the problems are caused by tape... just accept to use Panasonic and JVC tapes also dont mix ME and MP tapes(chemical reaction can occur), connector issues that can be fixed by clean, crimp and seal techniques and occasionally mechanical issues. PCBs can suffer from solder issues and then require rework. Remember camcorders are mechanical devices and regardless of hours of use can suffer from heat(left in car), grit and sand(beach/desert), vibration and impact(travelling), and fluids(rain, fishing, surfing, etc)... issues can and do occur. Often customers lie and deceive only to be shown footage recovered of them doing that which they have denied. If you keep having the same issues repair after repair then more likely the repair undertaken was not thorough enough or lacked the resolve to truly be effective.... take it up with your repairer.
