Re: JVC service or questions/Pechorins site

Wayne Mareno Posted May 16, 2005, in response to:Stacy Sample

Hi, I have a 27" TV that is around 6 to 8 years old. It has worked great. Suddenly the picture went red like. It is a shade of red and still does have the other colors barely noticeable. When I put the menu on the picture brightens and looks almost normal. When I take it off, it is hard to see anything. It is dull and a red like fog. One person told me it may need to be demagnetized. I tried to do the turn it off or unplug for 20 minutes and turn back on a couple times. No change. I wonder why the pic is almost fine when I use the menu? Sure would appreciate some help on this. Thanx, Wayne

If it is demagnatised you can purchase an item form pretty much any electrical hardware store that will re-maganatise your tv/monitor. It is generally a stack of curled up magnetic wire that releases pulses of energy when you activate it next to your tv (generally where the speakers are) and it will gradually over days get back to normal.
