I have a similar problem. We had an thunderstorm and ever since the on timer light on the front of my 27'' JVC TV as been on, but there is not other power. Neither the remote or the on button will turn the TV on. Other than the red on timer light the TV is completely dead.

I called the JVC service center and they recommended to turn the TV off for one hour. I -unplugged the TV for four days and still no power.

  I have just had the same problem start after a thunderstorm as well. The On Timer light is always lit, but not other power. If you happened to fix it, please let me know how!!!!!

  Just got home from vacation. I have the same problem. And my VoIP phone is out . Must have been lightning. Would love to know if it's fixable. The TV that is.

  Same problem with my JVC. Unplugged it for 3 months (spare TV) and still won't work. I'm thinking the unplugging thing just is not going to work. Seems like a lot of broke TV's and no fixes. Has anyone fixed this?

    I have the same problem with no apparent cause, i.e. no thunderstorm. I'm expecting a repairman next week. A local independent service place claims JVC TV's have a self-diagnostic that shuts the TV off this way when it detects a problem.

    Hi, May I inquire if your On-timer problem was fixed, and if so, how did you do it? My sister-in-law's TV is doing the exact same thing. The On Timer red light keeps blinking. When you unplug the power cord to the TV and plug it back in, then turn it on, it only stays on for about 5 seconds or so. Any help or suggestions you can provide would be GREATLY appreciated.       hi i just read you'r comments on www.Pechorin i was wondering if u get you'r TV fixed becuase i have haveing the problem with my 32 inch jvc tv it show the on timer red light after turning it on, if u find the solution let me know ...
