Chuck your problem may be of the same type that I had with my Sony F717. I suddenly got that C:13:01 problem after I accidentally dropped it. Turns out that the ribbon cable that feeds from the memory stick/disk reader got loose. After I opened the camera and secured all of the ribbon cables the problem was fixed. I think the the problem that most people have with their cameras and this message is probably related to the ribbon cables. Hope this helps.
