Re: SR-VS30E / HR-DVS3EU firewire driver

Hans Posted Sep 12, 2005, in response to:Tim Postma

Windows XP professional with SP2 does have the driver for JVC SR-VS30 deck installed! I also have a VIA OHCI IEEE/fire wire port, and I solved the problem as follows: I connected the SR-VS30E to the FW, turned the deck on, and opened up the device manager. I right clicked and uninstalled everything in the Imaging Device, as well as the AV/C Tuner. In the device manager, I opened Action-Scan for hardware changes. When it detected the device, I pointed the wizard to: install from list – don’t look, I will chose the driver - next. In the device list, I chose “show all devices” and after this I chose JVC – JVC DV Tape Recorder/Player. I ignored the warning by windows not to install and installed it any way. A bug in the SR –VS 30 PnP information code, probably induces the warning in Windows. By checking the device manager again, I found out I have solved the problem. Good luck.
