I recently got the same message on all DVD's attempted. I think mine showed up in Oct, but it may have been a little longer ago, as my kids generally use that DVD and don't always me tell things in a timely manner. I tried using a lens cleaning disk with no improvement. Please let me know if you hear anything that might help resolve it. In the meantime, I'm figuring it has died and am shopping for a new (non-panasonic) DVD player (though my cynical mind tells me that brand may make little difference). As the other poster w/ this problem suggested, it would be quite easy and advantageous for manufacturers to design equipment to fail, requiring replacement (even if the technology hasn't been out-moded yet). Many other products (one example is clothes washers in particular) are known by the agents who service them to be designed for a certain life of use. Durability and longevity are not necessarily selling points for electronics. Anyway, I could rant much longer, but I won't. I just started looking for this error code online. I'll re-post if I find anything interesting. Take care and good luck.

Matt, * I had the same problem on my Panasonic Home Theater - it happened just yesterday 11/24/05. Here's how I fixed it. First, I disconnected the unit from everything (especially the power) and placed in on a workbench. Ignoring all the warnings in the manual and on the case, I removed the 4 screws on the side of the case and the 2 screws on the back of the case and removed the case. I then could access the disk drive. I plugged the power cable into the unit and turned it on. The disk wasn't spinning - that's why the unit thought there was no disk. I reached down with my finger and gave the disk a little spin. The motor kicked in and the disk started spinning like it should. I turned it off and on a few times to see if it would still work and it did. I replaced the cover and screws and hooked it all back up. It works just fine now. If you decide to try what I did just remember not to touch anything that looks like it could give you a shock. Good Luck, Nick
