Im having similar problems.

Dude are you having similar problems as I have stated below:

I need help with my JVC D72 mini dv cam. Suddenly its veiw finder and LCD has stopped showing objects that I want to capture. As I switch to record mode 'lens cap' is displayed for 5 secs. which i read in the manual is normal. Then i see a blinking signal that im not able to find anywhere in the manual. I'll try to describe in writing here. The signal starts with the figure of a human. round head n shoulders then two arrows on each direction followed by two steep hills. If i leave the cam on for a while its demo starts displaying.
