Re[4]: dead sony kp53hs10 big screen

Don Posted Nov 30, 2005, in response to:Eric

Hi, I'm on the same boat here. Purchased it brand new in Dec/2000 with 4 years extended warranty. Now, it's dead. No pic, no sound. Red error signal flashes twice every 3 seconds. I did open the unit and found nothing wrong, except that when I unplug and replug the power cord, then I can hear the contact relay click ON and then OFF right away. It sounds like the relay coil desn't have enought voltage to energize and to hold the set of contacts in close position. The transformer look OK but I don't have a multimeter handy to measure the input and output voltages. Also, the relay is a non-servicable type, and it was being soldered to the power supply board. I think it not that hard to replace the relay, but what if the part is not available then we may end up to buy the whole power supply board assembly. Eric! Please help us with the service manual.

Hi my name is Steve and I'm in the same boat. What happened to your tv? Did you fix the repair and if so approximately how much did you spend. Thank you for your time, Steve Rickman

Dear Don: I have the same problem. I just want to know what happened to your tv. Thanks.

My TV went out last night and did the exact same thing. According to this chart site, there seems to be a pattern here with this brand/age of tv. I was wondering if you were ever able to fix it or get it working again and if yes, how? Any info you could provide would be very helpful and much appreciated. Thank you.
